Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Near Glendale Junction Identified
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 7, 2025) — Authorities have identified the man killed in a hit-and-run crash near the Glendale Junction, west of Lincoln Heights, as 46-year-old Juan Amaya.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Amaya died from traumatic injuries after being struck by a vehicle early Friday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Avenue 19 and Humboldt Street, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.
Juan Amaya Was Crossing Avenue 19 When A Vehicle Hit Him and Fled
Witnesses told investigators that Amaya was crossing Avenue 19 when an unidentified vehicle hit him and fled the scene without stopping to provide aid. Emergency responders arrived, but Amaya was pronounced dead at the scene.
The LAPD is actively investigating the fatal hit-and-run and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
