San Francisco Lawyer Involved in Car Crash Mystery

Authorities surprised a San Francisco-based lawyer Thursday night when they discovered a car in his garage that allegedly hit and killed a bicyclist in Dublin Tuesday night.

Bo Hu, a 57-year-old man from China was hit Tuesday at about 11:30 p.m. by the car found in the lawyer’s garage, a new 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS550. Hu was riding or walking on Dougherty Road near Fall Creek Road before the tragic accident per authorities and various news sources. The car that hit Hu continued north on Dougherty and was San Ramon bound. It did not stop until three miles later reaching the garage of the lawyer.
Hu was declared dead at the scene. He was on the ground surrounded by a pool of shattered car parts and was soaked in his own blood.
Police collected the broken parts and took them as evidence. They visited a local Mercedes-Benz dealership where the dealer was able to confirm that the parts belonged to a 2012 CLS -500, -550 or -63.
The vehicle in the lawyer’s garage was suspect to the one that hit Hu. It matched the facts of the bicycle accident said Lt. herb Walters of the Dublin Police Department.
The parked CLS550 had extensive front windshield damage and was missing various parts on the body which were similar to the one’s left behind at the scene. Authorities learned that the lawyer had recently purchased that vehicle.
According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the lawyer has had two speeding tickets in the state within the past year. He was taken into custody by Dublin Police and his car was towed for further investigation.
The accident is under close investigation and authorities are searching for witnesses to aid in piecing together the facts of Tuesday night’s occurrences.
