Female Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on 215 Freeway in Riverside
RIVERSIDE, CA (February 20, 2025) – A 61-year-old Riverside woman was killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday evening on the 215 Freeway, authorities said.
The fatal accident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. on February 20, near Van Buren Boulevard. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), Stephanie Varieur was riding a three-wheel Can-Am Spyder motorcycle southbound when she attempted to turn right and collided with the trailer of a semi-truck.
Stephanie Varieur Was Pronounced Dead At The Scene
The impact caused the motorcycle to overturn, ejecting Varieur onto the freeway lanes.
The truck driver pulled onto the right shoulder, unknowingly dragging the motorcycle along with it.
Varieur suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside Fire Department.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact CHP officers at 951-324-7210.
