South Los Angeles Teen Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash; Suspect Still at Large
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 23, 2025) – Hayden Leslie Neighbors, a 16-year-old boy was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The victim, identified as Hayden Leslie Neighbors, was riding a pocket bike northbound on San Pedro Street when he was struck by a dark-colored Toyota Corolla traveling in the same direction. The fatal collision occurred around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of San Pedro Street and 99th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Neighbors suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a junior at John C. Fremont High School.
Following the crash, the driver of the Corolla reportedly exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Authorities described the suspect as a heavy-set man in his 20s.
