Multiple People Hurt in Historic South-Central When Metro Train Collides with Car

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 3, 2025)– Several people were evaluated for injuries after a Metro Blue A-Line train collided with a vehicle near Washington Boulevard in the Historic South-Central neighborhood on Monday afternoon, officials said.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the crash occurred around noon between the Grand/LATTC and San Pedro Street stations. For reasons yet to be determined, the train struck a vehicle on the tracks.

The Severity of Injuries Is Not Know At This Time

Emergency responders provided medical attention to the car’s driver and multiple train passengers at the scene. Authorities have not disclosed the severity of any injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Los Angeles police are urging witnesses with information to contact traffic detectives.

Officials remind the public to always observe railroad signals, lights, bells, and barriers, and to stay alert at crossings to avoid accidents.
