Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Gardena Leads To Arrest of James In Los Angeles
GARDENA, CA (February 2, 2025) – Marian James faces charges following a fatal hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and 135th Street on Sunday morning.
According to the Gardena Police Department, officers responded to reports of a crash near Rowley Park at approximately 7:40 a.m. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that two vehicles had collided, leaving one driver unresponsive inside their car. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Marian James Fled The Scene Before Officers Arrived
The second driver involved had fled before officers arrived. However, Los Angeles Police later located and arrested 29-year-old Marian James at her residence in Los Angeles.
Traffic investigators determined that James had been traveling southbound on Van Ness Avenue when she ran a red light at the intersection, striking the victim’s vehicle.
Identity of the Victim Killed by Marian James Has Yet To Be Released
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
