High-Speed Police Chase of DUI Suspect Ends With a Crash in North Hollywood
NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA (December 17, 2024) – A chaotic police chase involving a suspected drunk driver ended in a dramatic standoff near Vineland Avenue and Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. The incident unfolded after the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department attempted to stop the driver, who had reportedly struck four vehicles near La Cañada Flintridge.
The suspect, refusing to pull over, continued driving recklessly, colliding with several more cars and narrowly avoiding hitting pedestrians. The pursuit spilled onto North Hollywood surface streets, where the suspect’s vehicle sideswiped an innocent driver. The chase escalated as the suspect ran multiple red lights, leading to a collision with another vehicle that partially disabled the fleeing car.
Suspect Now Faces Multiple Felony Charges For His Bad Decision To Flee
The chase came to a halt on Vineland Avenue, where an hour-long standoff ensued. Law enforcement eventually apprehended the suspect, who now faces multiple felony charges.
