Pickup Truck Hits Pedestrian On Morena Blvd in Bay Ho Area
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 24, 2024) — A pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck on Morena Boulevard near the 5 Freeway in the Bay Ho neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when the driver of a Ford F-250, traveling in the 4200 block of Morena Boulevard, hit a man who was pushing a shopping cart in the same direction. Authorities say the driver did not see the pedestrian for reasons that remain unclear.
Male Pedestrian Suffered Cardiac Arrest Before Being Resuscitated
The victim suffered critical injuries, including a ruptured spleen, a collapsed lung, and multiple fractures to his pelvis and ribs. After the collision, the man went into cardiac arrest but was resuscitated by first responders administering CPR. He is currently hospitalized and fighting for his life.
Police have ruled out alcohol or drug impairment as factors in the crash. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division.
