Arrests Made After High-Speed Police Chase Ends at Alameda and Firestone
SOUTH GATE, CA (October 11, 2024) – A high-speed police chase ended in a crash and multiple arrests near the intersection of Alameda Street and Firestone Boulevard late Friday night. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. after officers observed vehicles performing illegal donuts at an intersection in an unincorporated area of Compton.
When authorities attempted to intervene, the suspects fled, leading officers on a pursuit that reached speeds of up to 120 miles per hour along the 210 Freeway. The chase eventually led to South Gate, where the fleeing Infiniti sedan exited the freeway and collided with another vehicle. The suspects’ car then crashed through a small brick wall and struck a parked minivan outside a 7-Eleven.
Three Suspects Attempted To Escape Arrest, But All Were Rounded Up
Three suspects jumped out of the damaged vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended by officers.
All suspects were taken into custody, and no major injuries were reported.
Authorities urge the public to stay vigilant for reckless drivers and to exercise caution on the roads, especially when motorists are driving unpredictably or engaging in dangerous behavior.
