Truck Crashes into Restaurant After Multi-Car Accident
SANTA CLARITA, CA (September 16, 2024) – A truck crashed into a local pizza restaurant on Monday following a multi-car accident on Sierra Highway, near the 14 Freeway, according to authorities.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station reported that the crash occurred around 3:16 p.m. when the driver of a truck attempted to use his emergency brake after his regular brakes failed. The truck struck a gray Toyota Prius and a blue Hyundai Elantra before careening into the side of Chi Chi’s Pizza.
One person sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to a hospital by paramedics.
LA County Sheriffs Continue To Investigate The Accident
No arrests were made following the incident, and authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
Officials are asking anyone with additional information about the accident to contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
In light of the crash, authorities reminded drivers of the importance of regular vehicle maintenance to prevent mechanical failures on the road.
