Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash Kills 1 in Gardena
Gardena, CA (May 21, 2024) – A man in his 60s was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning on Rosecrans Avenue near Broadway.
The incident occurred around 4:15 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). For reasons yet unknown, a driver hit the man who was walking in the westbound lanes of Rosecrans Avenue. The driver then fled the scene without assisting the injured pedestrian.
Authorities Still Have No Clues On Who This Mysterious Victim Is
Emergency personnel arrived shortly after and found the man with fatal injuries. His identity has not been released, pending notification of his next of kin.
Authorities currently have no information about the suspect or the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. The CHP is urging anyone who witnessed the accident or has information that could assist in the investigation to contact them immediately.
