2 Killed in DUI Crash in Jefferson Park Area of South LA
Los Angeles, CA (March 28, 2024) – Two individuals, Luzelena Soria-Rosales and Oscar Santos Farela, tragically lost their lives in a DUI-related accident on Arlington Avenue at Mont Clair Street in Jefferson Park. The incident occurred when a driver, suspected to be under the influence, was traveling at approximately 100 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone.
Reports indicate that the speeding vehicle collided with a UPS truck, causing it to veer off course, before careening into oncoming traffic. The collision resulted in the deaths of 26-year-old Oscar Santos Farela and 18-year-old Luzelena Soria-Rosales.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, where paramedics confirmed the fatalities. The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified the victims.
Authorities suspect that DUI was a contributing factor in the accident. However, the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
