Man Struck and Killed in Pedestrian Crash in Murrieta
Murrieta, CA (February 26, 2024) – Leny Gaitan died in a pedestrian accident on Whitewood Road near Somers Road. The incident, according to the Murrieta Police Department, occurred around 7:29 p.m. on Monday.

Reports suggest that Leny Gaitan walked into the southbound lanes outside a marked crosswalk under unclear circumstances. Subsequently, a vehicle struck him, followed by two additional cars.
Emergency services arrived promptly, finding Gaitan on the road and all involved drivers pulled over to the side. Paramedics transported Leny Gaitan to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where he tragically passed away.
Rain May Have Been A Factor In Crash
Following the crash, police conducted interviews with all parties involved and determined that neither speed nor impairment contributed to the accident. However, authorities noted that it was raining at the time of the crash.
