Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Car on Highway 76 in Oceanside
Oceanside, CA (January 9, 2024) –Tragedy unfolded on Highway 76 in Oceanside on Sunday night, January 7, as a pedestrian lost their life in a fatal collision around 6:23 p.m. at Canyon Drive. According to the Oceanside Police Department, the pedestrian was unlawfully crossing the highway from south to north when a white Toyota Prius collided with them.
Person Killed Died At The Scene on Highway 76 Near Canyon Drive
Regrettably, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to the accident at the scene. At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld.
In a commendable display of responsibility, the driver of the Prius remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. Police confirmed that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
