Pedestrian Struck and Killed by 2 Cars on Pacific Coast Hwy in Long Beach
Long Beach, CA (January 2, 2024) – A pedestrian met a fatal fate after being struck by two vehicles on Pacific Coast Highway near Maine Avenue, according to Long Beach police officers.
Unidentified Driver Fled Scene Near Main Ave. After Fatally Striking Pedestrian
The unfortunate incident unfolded at approximately 4:25 a.m. on a Sunday morning. An unidentified driver left the scene after striking the pedestrian for reasons yet to be determined. Subsequently, a second driver struck the victim, but unlike the first, this driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the arriving police.
Authorities promptly responded to the scene to find the pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite receiving immediate care, the pedestrian tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released by officials at this time.
LBPD Are Seeking Help From The Public In Their Investigation
As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities discovered that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.
