Wrong-Way Driver Causes Multi-Vehicle Accident on 101 Fwy in Hollywood
Los Angeles, CA (December 12, 2023) – In the early hours of Monday, December 11, at around 2:00 a.m., at least one individual sustained injuries in a wrong-way accident on the 101 Freeway, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
1 Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Accident on 101 Freeway
The incident unfolded when a northbound vehicle inexplicably entered the southbound lanes, leading to a collision with at least five vehicles near the Sunset Boulevard off-ramp. The reasons behind the wrong-way travel are currently under investigation by authorities.
Paramedics swiftly responded to the scene, transporting one injured person to a local hospital. According to reports, the victim is currently in critical condition.
Authorities Closed The 101 For Hours To Clear The Mess of Damaged Cars
In order to facilitate the removal of vehicles involved in the crash, responders temporarily closed affected lanes. Tow trucks were brought in to clear the wreckage, with operations lasting until approximately 3:30 a.m.
The CHP is actively engaged in investigating the root cause of the accident, and further information will be released as the inquiry progresses.
