San Diego Man Struck and Killed in Downtown Area by Tour Bus
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 8, 2022) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who was struck and fatally injured by a tour bus in downtown San Diego on October 30.
The victim was Chengwei Hu, 72 years old.
The crash occurred where Broadway and Ninth Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 3:15 p.m., authorities said.
Hu was walking when a tour bus struck him, but it is not known from reports how the crash happened.
Responders transported Hu to the University of California, San Diego Medical Center.
He died on Thursday, reports say.
Investigators are continuing their work to understand how and why the crash happened, and for that effort, they are gathering information and details.
