Crash Kills Street Vendor at Ave. S and 25th Street in Palmdale, CA
PALMDALE, CA (October 21, 2022) – On Wednesday night in Palmdale, two vehicles collided, and the force of the crash sent the vehicles to hit a street vendor on the sidewalk.
The man who had been selling balloons was killed in the October 19 crash, which occurred where Avenue S and 25th Street intersect.
The time was roughly 9:00 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
According to authorities, a vehicle–which has not been described–had been stopped at the intersection for a red light.
The stopped vehicle was struck by a vehicle which had been traveling on Avenue S; the second vehicle has also not been described.
The force of the crash propelled the two vehicles to land on the sidewalk where a street vendor had been selling balloons.
The vendor was struck by the crashed vehicles.
Responders transported him to the hospital. He died in the hospital.
His identity–including name, age, and city of residence–has not been reported.
Responders took one of the drivers to the hospital. The injuries the person suffered, and current condition are not known.
Reports do not say if the other driver was hurt in the crash. It is also not known if anyone else was injured in the incident.
No one involved in the crash has been identified.
Investigators are working to understand the crash, and its causes. They are collecting details and information.
