El Segundo Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Police Officer
EL SEGUNDO, CA (October 12, 2022) – Late at night on Friday in El Segundo, a pedestrian was struck and killed by an El Segundo police officer. The exact location of the October 7 crash has not been reported.
The time was a little after 10:00 p.m., according to authorities.
Reports say a person who was walking in the road, not within a crosswalk that is marked, was struck by the police officer.
Responders pronounced the victim deceased at the crash site. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The officer’s identity is also not known from reports.
Investigators with the California Highway Patrol are collecting details and information to understand the crash, and why it happened.
