Hit-and-run Crash on Fairmount Ave. Onramp to I-8 Kills Pedestrian In San Diego, CA
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 6, 2022) – On Monday night in San Diego, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian in the Mission Valley area. The October 3 crash occurred on the Fairmount Avenue onramp to I-8.
The time was roughly a little before 9:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
The pedestrian was walking on the onramp, according to authorities, and a vehicle–which has not been described–struck him.
The driver fled the crash site without helping the victim.
Responders transported the victim to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital.
He was identified only as 26 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash, and the suspect driver, who has also not been described.
