15 Years Old Redondo Beach Boy Injured by Hit-and-run Driver
REDONDO BEACH, CA (September 21, 2022) – On Saturday night in Redondo Beach, a hit-and-run driver struck and injured a teen boy. The victim of the September 17 crash was later identified as Lebron Evans, 15 years old.
According to reports, Evans was riding his bike with a friend and was on his way home. A vehicle–described as a pickup truck–hit him.
Video recorded by a surveillance camera captured the incident, and shows the victim and his bicycle wedged under the front end of the truck, according to reports.
Lebron Evans’ mother–identified as Christina Evans–was reported as saying the suspect hit-and-run driver did not stop right away, but dragged her son before stopping.
Lebron can be seen in the video, reports say, crawling to the sidewalk from under the truck. The suspect hit-and-run driver drives in reverse away from the wedged bike, and drives away from the crash site, according to reports.
Investigators with Redondo Beach Police are searching for the pickup truck involved in the crash, and the suspect hit-and-run driver.
