Hit-and-run Crash on Union Ave. Kills Woman in Bakersfield, CA
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 24, 2022) – Late at night on Saturday in Bakersfield, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The August 20 crash occurred on Union Avenue in the 400 block.
The time was roughly 9:47 a.m., Bakersfield Police said.
According to authorities, the pedestrian was not walking within a crosswalk when a vehicle–described as a sedan, dark in color–struck her.
The driver did not stop or call for assistance, but fled the crash site.
Responders arrived to help, but the woman died from the injuries she suffered.
Her identity–including name, age, and city of residence–has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to gather information about the crash to locate the vehicle involved, and the suspect hit-and-run driver.
