Two Drivers Suspected of Running Over and Killing Los Angeles Teen Intentionally
LOS ANGELES, CA (August 22, 2022) – Early in the morning on Sunday in South Los Angeles, a teen boy was struck by two vehicles and killed in what police suspect were intentional acts. The August 20 crashes occurred where Avalon Boulevard and E. 62nd Street are located, in a parking lot.
Reports say that according to people who witnessed the incident, a party had been taking place in the parking lot with over 150 people in attendance.
Witnesses recounted that an argument occurred, and not long after, a person who was driving a car–described as a sedan, white in color–ran over the victim
After striking the boy, the car smashed into a light pole.
While the boy was down on the ground, another vehicle–described as a Maserati SUV, black in color–ran over the victim.
The Maserati left the parking lot, traveled in reverse and ran over the victim a second time, and fled the scene, according to reports.
Responders pronounced the boy deceased at the crash site. He was identified only as 17 years old.
His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the two suspect hit-and-run drivers.
