Hit-and-run Driver Injures Man on Montezuma Road in San Diego, CA
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 17, 2022) – Late at night on Monday in San Diego, a hit-and-run driver struck and injured an elderly man in the College East area. The August 15 crash occurred on Montezuma Road in the 6500 block.
The time was roughly 11:25 p.m., John Buttle said. Buttle is an officer with San Diego Police.
According to authorities, the pedestrian was walking across Montezuma Road and a vehicle–described as a BMW, which was believed to have been stolen–hit him.
The suspect hit-and-run driver abandoned the stolen BMW and ran from the crash site.
Responders arrived to help the victim. He was identified only as 72 years old.
His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the suspect hit-and-run driver, who was described only as male.
