Hit-and-run Crash in Store Parking Lot Critically Injures Pedestrian in Lompoc, CA
LOMPOC, CA (August 10, 2022) – Early in the evening on Monday in Lompoc, a hit-and-run driver struck a pedestrian, and ran over her. The August 8 crash occurred in the parking lot of the 99 Cents Only Store.
The time was roughly 7:00 p.m., Lompoc Police said.
According to people who witnessed the crash, reports say, the pedestrian was struck by a car, knocked down to the ground, and the driver ran over her.
The suspect driver fled the crash site without helping the victim.
Responders transported the victim to a hospital in Santa Barbara County for treatment of injuries that include her chest and legs.
Her condition was described as critical.
She was identified only as a resident of Lompoc, 51 years old. Her name has not been reported.
Authorities located the alleged driver and arrested her on suspicion of felony hit and run. She was identified as Mary Alice Brown, a resident of Lompoc, 67 years old.
Investigators with the Lompoc Police Department are continuing to gather information and details.
