Hit-and-run Crash Kills One at De Soto Ave. and Vanowen
CANOGA PARK, CA (June 28, 2022) – Early in the morning in Canoga Park on Tuesday, a hit-and-run crash killed a person. The June 28 crash occurred where De Soto Avenue and Vanowen Street intersect.
The time was roughly a little before 12:15 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Investigators suspect a vehicle–described as a Dodge Ram–had been traveling south on De Soto Avenue and went through a light that was red at the intersection.
The Ram collided with a vehicle–described as a Lexus IS 350–that was traveling on Vanowen Street and heading west.
The Force of The Crash Resulted In The Lexus Rolling Over Repeatedly
The force of the crash sent the Lexus to roll over repeatedly; it smashed against street sign, light pole, and power pole.
The Dodge also rolled over multiple times, reports say. Responders pronounced the person who was driving the Lexus deceased at the crash site. The identity of the victim, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators believe the person who was driving the Dodge ran from the crash site. They are searching for the suspect, who was described as male, possibly in his twenties.
