Oxnard Teen Driver Dies from Injuries after Crash on Pleasant Valley Road
OXNARD, CA (June 16, 2022) – On Monday, the teen driver who was involved in a crash last week in Oxnard died from his injuries. The June 9 crash occurred on Pleasant Valley Road near Rose Avenue, and to the west of it.
According to authorities, two males–both 17 years old–had been traveling in a Honda Accord on Pleasant Valley Road and heading west.
For reasons that are not known, the car went out of the driver’s control and smashed into a tree and a wall.
Responders worked to free the two young people from the wrecked car. They transported them to VCMC.
Their condition following the crash was described as critical.
On Monday, the driver died from his injuries.
He was a resident of Port Hueneme. His name has not been reported.
The teen passenger is hospitalized at VCMC; his condition is described as serious.
He is a resident of Oxnard; his name has also not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and they are gathering information and details.
