Crash near Moorpark on Highway 118 Kills One In Somis, CA
SOMIS, CA (June 15, 2022) – In the morning on Tuesday in Somis, a crash killed a person. The June 15 crash occurred on Highway 118, near Moorpark and to the west of it, and to the north of Camarillo.
The time was roughly 9:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Two vehicles–described as a semi truck and a pickup truck–collided on Highway 118 close to where Center School Road is located.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened.
Responders arrived to help, but one person died in the crash. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
It is not known how many people were involved in the crash, nor if there were any other injuries.
The two drivers have not been identified.
Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened, and how it happened. They are in the process of collecting information to aid in their work.
