Rancho Cucamonga Woman Killed in Hit-and-run Crash
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA (April 22, 2022) – Early in the evening on Sunday in Rancho Cucamonga, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a woman. The victim of the April 17 crash was later identified by family members as Carla Skowronski.
The crash occurred on Foothill Boulevard in the 9000 block, where a mobile home park is located.
The time was roughly 7:30 p.m., the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
No details have been reported on how the crash happened; the vehicle has not been described.
Responders from the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department came to the scene and found Skowronski was down on the ground. Her dog had also been struck.
Responders transported Skowronski to Pomona Valley Medical Center. She died in the hospital. Skowronski was 56 years old.
Investigators are searching for the suspect driver, who has not been described, and the vehicle involved in the crash.
