Mission Federal Credit Union Employee Injured when Car Smashes into Bank In San Diego, CA
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 20, 2021) – Late in the afternoon on Wednesday in Clairemont, a bank employee was injured when a car smashed into a building. The August 18 crash occurred on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in the 4200 block, where Mission Federal Credit Union is located.
The time was roughly a little after 11:00 a.m., according to San Diego Police.
Authorities say a vehicle–described as a Honda Accord–had been traveling on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and heading west. The driver suffered a medical emergency, and lost control of the vehicle, reports say.
The car crashed into a vehicle that was parked, and smashed into the bank building. A bank employee who had been working at her desk was struck and injured, reports say.
Responders transported the bank employee to the a hospital. She suffered injuries that included a broken foot.
She was identified only as 38 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver was identified only as 31 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported. The type of medical emergency the driver suffered has also not been reported.
According to police, a child 2 years old and a child 5 years old, had been traveling in the driver’s vehicle. Neither the driver, nor the children, were hurt in crash, according to reports.
Investigators are working to collect details and information about the crash.
