Vehicle Hits 13-year-old Boy on Bicycle in Seal Beach
SEAL BEACH, CA (May 7, 2021) – Early in the afternoon on Wednesday in Seal Beach, a vehicle struck and injured a teenaged boy. The May 5 incident occurred close to where Marlin Avenue and Jade Cove Way intersect.
The time was roughly 1:40 p.m., Nick Nicholas said. Nicholas is a lieutenant with Seal Beach Police.
The boy–13 years old–had been riding his bicycle when he was struck by the vehicle, according to reports. No details have been reported on the circumstances of the crash. The vehicle has not been described.
Responders from Orange County Fire Authority arrived and transported the boy to the hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as moderate. His current condition is not known.
The person who had been driving the vehicle stayed at the crash site and cooperated with investigators. The identity of the driver–including name, age, gender, and city of residence–has not been reported.
Investigators are working to understand the crash, and for that effort, they are gathering information and details.
