Driver Fleeing Pursuit Collides with Vehicle in Los Angeles’ Fairfax District; Other Driver Dies
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 3, 2021) – On Tuesday night in Los Angeles, a driver who was fleeing from Sheriff’s deputies collided with a vehicle, killing the other driver. The March 2 incident occurred in the Fairfax District, where Fairfax Avenue and 3rd Street intersect.
The time was roughly 10:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports say the incident began when deputies from the Department’s West Hollywood Division tried to pull the suspect driver over for a traffic violation. Deputies commenced pursuit of the suspect for assault on a deputy, reports say, but how the assault occurred has not been described.
The suspect driver collided with a vehicle–which has not been described–in the area where Fairfax Avenue and 3rd Street intersect. The force of the crash sent the other vehicle to smash against a building.
The vehicle the suspect had been driving–which has not been described–erupted in flames.
Responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived to help. They pronounced the person who had been driving the second vehicle deceased at the crash site.
