Car Crashes into House on Downey Ave. in Paramount, Killing Driver
PARAMOUNT, CA (February 23, 2021) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in Paramount, a car smashed into a house, killing the driver. The structure was damaged in the February 23 incident, which occurred on Downey Avenue in the 16600 block.
The time was roughly 1:10 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
According to reports, investigators think a vehicle–which has not been described–had been traveling on Downey Avenue and going south. The vehicle went out of the driver’s control, and smashed into the house, with the vehicle overturning and coming to a stop in the front yard.
Responders arrived and worked to free the driver from the wreckage. They pronounced the person deceased at the crash site. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The people who were living in the house were not hurt in the crash, reports say. The residents were displaced, as the house suffered damage that was described as moderate, and was red tagged by inspectors.
The owners of the house have not been identified in reports.
Investigators are working to collect details and information regarding the incident.
