Bakersfield Crash on Panama Lane Near Highway 43 Kills Teen, Injures Man
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 3, 2020) – Early in the morning on Sunday in Bakersfield, a series of crashes killed a teen driver and seriously injured a man. The November 29 incident occurred on Panama Lane, near Highway 43 and to the east of it.
The time was roughly 2:49 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
A vehicle–described as a Toyota Corolla–had been heading west on Panama Lane. The driver of the Corolla went off the roadway, rolled over, and came to a stop in a lane that heads east.
Another vehicle–described as a Toyota Camry–had been traveling on the eastbound side of the road, and struck the Corolla.
Responders arrived and found the driver in the Corolla died at the crash site. He was identified as 19 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Responders transported the driver of the Camry to Kern Medical. He suffered injuries that were described as serious. His current condition is not known.
He was identified only as 21 years old. His name and city of residence have also not been reported.
