Chula Vista Hit-and-run Crash on East J Street Injures Bicyclist
CHULA VISTA, CA (September 4, 2020) – A bicyclist was injured on Thursday night in Chula Vista when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver. The September 3 incident occurred on East J Street in the 100 block, close to Hilltop Middle School.
The time was roughly 7:15 p.m., according to Brian Carter. Carter is with the Chula Vista Police.
The victim had been riding a bicycle on East J Street, and a vehicle–described as a Honda CRV–struck him. The driver did not help the victim and stay at the incident site.
Responders arrived and transported the injured bicyclist. His back and arm were injured, reports say.
The identity of the victim, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported. The current condition of the injured man is not known.
Investigators are searching for the suspected hit-and-run driver, who has not been described. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can contact investigators. The number is 619-691-5151.
