Crash on Hillery Drive in San Diego’s Mira Mesa Area Kills Motorcyclist
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 3, 2020) – In the afternoon on Wednesday in San Diego, a crash in the neighborhood of Mira Mesa killed a motorcyclist. The September 2 incident occurred on Hillery Drive in the 9200 block.
The time was a little before 2:00 p.m., San Diego Police said.
A Harley-Davidson motorcycle had been westbound on Hillery Drive, and a vehicle–described as a Honda Accord–made a turn to the left in the path of the motorcycle. The motorcycle and the Honda collided.
Responders arrived and transported the rider to the hospital. He was pronounced dead in the hospital, according to Robert Heims. Heims is a police officer.
He was identified only as 26 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the Honda suffered an injury to the hand. The driver was identified only as 63 years old. The name and city of residence of the person has not been reported.
Investigators are working on gathering information about the crash.
