Hit-and-run Crash Near McFadden and Orange in Santa Ana Injures Teen Pedestrian
SANTA ANA, CA (August 11, 2020) – On Monday night in Santa Ana, a teen boy who was walking was injured in a hit-and-run crash. The August 10 incident occurred close to where McFadden Avenue and Orange Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 8:10 p.m., according to Carol Salvatierra. Salvatierra is a sergeant with Santa Ana Police.
It is not clear from reports where the victim had been walking at the time of the crash, nor the line of travel the vehicle had been traveling. The vehicle that struck the boy was described as a Chevrolet pickup truck, light blue in color.
The driver did not stop to help the victim, but left the incident site.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to a hospital. The types of injuries he suffered, and his current condition, are not known.
He was identified only as roughly 15 to 17 years of age. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are working to find the suspect driver, and the vehicle involved in the crash.
