Vehicle Transporting Man with Gunshot Wound Crashes in Orange; Man Dies
ORANGE, CA (August 11, 2020) – Late at night on Thursday in Orange, a vehicle that was transporting a man with a gunshot wound to the hospital collided with another vehicle. The wounded man died after the August 6 incident.
The time of the crash was roughly 11:17 p.m., according to Orange Police.
Two vehicles collided in the area of Tustin Street and Chapman Avenue, but the vehicles have not been described. The manner in which the crash occurred has also not been described.
Responders arrived and found a man who had a gunshot wound in one of the vehicles, according to Jennifer Amat. Amat is a lieutenant with the Orange Police Department.
Responders transported the man with the gunshot wound to the hospital. He died in the hospital. His name, age, and city of residence have not been reported. According to Amat, investigators think the shooting occurred earlier, and not at the crash site.
The driver of each vehicle has not been identified. According to reports, the vehicle transporting the gunshot victim had several occupants. None have been identified.
It is not known if the other vehicle involved in the crash contained passengers. Reports say no one was hurt due to the crash.
