Woman Killed in Crash at Pond Road Intersection in Near Delano
DELANO, CA (July 14, 2020) – Gabrielle Bay Delong was killed in a crash on Saturday night near Delano. The July 11 incident occurred where Melcher Road and Pond Road intersect.
The time was roughly 11:09 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say Delong had been heading west on Pond Road. A vehicle–described as a Honda–came toward the intersection, according to the California Highway Patrol, and is alleged to not have fully stopped.
The Honda, and the vehicle Delong was driving, collided. The force of the crash sent the Honda into a street sign and other items.
Responders pronounced Delong deceased at the incident site. She was 34 years old.
The person who had been driving the Honda has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if the Honda’s driver was injured in the crash.
It is also not known if either vehicle had any other occupants at the time of the crash.
Investigators are continuing to work on gathering details and information regarding the collision.
