Motorcycle and Trash Truck Collide in Serra Mesa Area of San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 2, 2020) – On Wednesday evening in San Diego, a motorcycle and trash truck collided, injuring the rider. The July 1 incident occurred in the area of Serra Mesa, where Murray Ridge Road and Larkdale Avenue are located.
The time was roughly 6:13 p.m., San Diego Police said.
Reports say the two vehicles collided, but the manner in which the collision occurred has not been described. It is not known what path of travel each vehicle had been following prior to colliding.
After the collision happened, the rider was trapped beneath the trash truck.
Responders arrived and freed the rider. They transported the patient to the hospital. He suffered injuries to his legs that were described as major. His current condition is not known. His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the trash truck has also not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if the truck driver was hurt.
Investigators are working to understand the crash.
