Pedestrian Killed by Hit-and-run Driver on Waterman Avenue in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (June 12, 2020) – Early in the morning on Thursday, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian in San Bernardino. The June 11 incident occurred on Waterman Avenue near 7th Street.
The time was roughly 2:25 a.m., Dan Acosta said. Acosta is a detective with the San Bernardino Police Department.
Reports say a vehicle–which has not been described–had been on Waterman Avenue and heading southbound and it struck the person. According to Acosta, the person had been walking on Waterman Avenue in the number 2 lane.
The driver left the incident site and did not stop to help the person. The vehicle and the suspect driver have not been described.
The victim died. The person was identified only as 67 years old. The name, gender, and city of residence of the person has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved and the suspect driver. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can call Detective Acosta or Sergeant Jeff Harvey who are with the San Bernardino Police Department. The number is 909-384-5792.
