Vehicle Hits and Kills Pedestrian on Main Street in Santa Ana
SANTA ANA, CA (April 24, 2020) – Early in the morning on Wednesday in Santa Ana, a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle. The April 22 incident occurred on Main Street.
The time was roughly 5:30 a.m., Anthony Bertagna said. Bertagna is a corporal with Santa Ana Police.
Reports say the pedestrian had been walking across the road and not within a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her. The victim died at the incident site.
Reports say that according to Bertagna, the vehicle had been proceeding when the light was green for the driver. The driver remained at the incident site and cooperated with the investigation.
The identity of the driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, have not been reported.
Investigators are collecting information regarding the crash to understand the factors that contributed to it. They are examining details related to the incident.
