Suspect Escapes After Trying to Run Over Deputy in Wildomar
WILDOMAR, CA (April 1, 2020) – On Tuesday, a suspect who tried to run over a deputy in Wildomar escaped. The March 31 incident occurred on Orange Street in the 33700 block.
The time was roughly 10:30 a.m., the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
Reports say a man who was driving a pickup truck tried to hit a deputy. Deputies fired at the vehicle, which fled the scene.
The suspect was identified as Joe Sanchez, a resident of Lake Elsinore, 35 years old. It is not known if Sanchez was wounded by gunfire.
The deputy who was the target of Sanchez’s attempted assault was not hurt in the incident, reports say. No details have been reported on what prompted the assault.
Investigators are working to gather information and details regarding the incident. They are looking for Sanchez. If anyone has information about his location, the person can call Investigator Dickey. The number is 951-955-0896.
