Driver of Suspected Stolen Car Collides with Vehicle on 405 Freeway in Van Nuys; Three Teenagers Injured
VAN NUYS, CA (February 28, 2020) – On Thursday night, the driver of a suspected stolen car, who was fleeing police pursuit, collided with a vehicle in Van Nuys on the 405 Freeway. Three teenagers were injured in the February 27 incident, which occurred close to Victory Boulevard in the southbound lanes.
The time was roughly 10:30 p.m.
Reports say the police pursuit began in Pacoima, when the suspect—who was in a Toyota sedan—was traveling on surface streets. The driver then entered the 118 Freeway before entering the 405 Freeway. On the 405 Freeway, the Toyota clipped a vehicle, which has not been described.
The impact of the collision sent both vehicles spinning, and the Toyota struck a pole nearby.
Responders arrived and found that three people had been injured in the collision. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, they were all teenagers. The victims were described as two females and one male.
