Man Dies After Colliding with Vehicle in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 26, 2019) – Andres Moreno died after colliding with a vehicle on his bike in the afternoon on Monday in San Bernardino. The December 23 incident occurred on Baseline Street near where Crestview Avenue intersects.
The time was roughly 4:16 p.m., according to police.
Reports say Moreno, who was bicycling, went across the lanes of traffic. A vehicle—described as a Mercury Sable—which had been heading west on Baseline with a green light, struck Moreno, according to reports.
Responders arrived and transported Moreno to a hospital in the area. He died in the hospital. Moreno was 87 years old.
The person who had been driving the vehicle was identified as Harlean Byers, 80 years old.
Investigators are continuing to collect details and information regarding the incident. According to reports, investigators do not think that alcohol or speed were factors in the collision.
