13 Year Old Boy Killed in Avila Beach Golf Cart Crash

AVILA BEACH, CA (December 24, 2019) – Jared Aichouri was killed in a crash involving a golf cart in Avila Beach on Sunday afternoon. The December 22 incident occurred on Silver Oak Lane near Lupine Canyon Road, and to the east of it.

The time was 1:22 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Reports say Aichouri had been traveling as a passenger in a golf cart that another boy—identified as 16 years old—had been driving. The golf cart traveled onto an embankment, for reasons that are not known, and overturned.

Aichouri, who had been wearing a seatbelt, was pinned in the golf cart, according to investigators. Responders arrived and transported him to a hospital. He died from his injuries. Aichouri was 13 years old.

The driver of the golf cart suffered injuries that were described as minor. The boy’s name has not been reported.

Investigators are continuing their work to understand the factors related to the crash. If anyone has information about the incident, the person should call the California Highway Patrol. The number is 805-594-8700.
