Teenaged Brothers Killed in Crash in Winnetka
WINNETKA, CA (November 18, 2019) – Louis E. Perez and Cesar A. Perez—teenaged brothers—died early in the morning on Sunday in Winnetka when the vehicle they were riding in crashed. The November 17 incident occurred on Parthenia Street in the 20600 block.
The time was roughly a little before 1:00 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Reports say the vehicle they had been riding in had smashed into two vehicles that were parked on the street, and rolled over. Responders discovered that the roof, which the vehicle was sitting on, was caved in.
Responders pronounced two people who had been passengers in the vehicle—later identified as the Perez brothers by the coroner’s office—deceased as the incident site, according to Kurt Smith. Smith is a sergeant with the Los Angeles Police.
Louis E. Perez was 16 years old. Cesar A. Perez was 19 years old.
Responders worked to free the driver from the wrecked vehicle, and transport him to a hospital. According to Smith, the driver received treatment and was released. He was found to be under the influence and, according to Smith, he was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The driver was identified as Pablo Roman Trujillo, 20 years old. His city of residence has not been reported.
The parked vehicles that were struck in the incident have not been described, and the owners have not been identified.
Investigators are continuing their investigation into the incident.
