Woman Walking in Oxnard Killed by Hit-and-run Drivers on Ventura Road
OXNARD, CA (September 12, 2019) – A woman who was walking in Oxnard was struck and killed by possibly more than one hit-and-run driver late at night on Wednesday. The September 11 incident occurred on Ventura Road close to Juniper Street.
The time was roughly 11:36 p.m., according to Oxnard Police.
Reports say that people who witnessed the incident told authorities that a woman had been walking on the road in the lanes that head north. A vehicle—described as an SUV, dark in color—hit her, and drove away.
According to witnesses, a number of subsequent vehicles hit the woman, and those vehicles also drove away. The other vehicles have not been described. None of the drivers suspected in the incident have been described.
Responders arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the accident site. She was identified only as 37 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are continuing to collect details, information, and evidence regarding the incident. They are looking for the vehicles that struck the woman, and the drivers.
