Vehicle Smashes into Covina Restaurant, Injuring Two
COVINA, CA (August 22, 2019) – On Wednesday night, a vehicle smashed into a Covina restaurant, injuring two people. The August 21 incident occurred on West San Bernardino Road in the 1100 block, at the Mar Y Tierra Restaurant.
The time was roughly 10:30 p.m.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Kia SUV—had been going down San Bernardino Road. For reasons that are not known, the vehicle—which had been traveling at a fast speed—went out of the driver’s control and smashed into a wall. The incident was captured on video recorded by a surveillance camera.
The vehicle came to a stop with its front half inside the building. According to reports, the restaurant was not open when the incident occurred.
Responders arrived to attend to the victims. Two people were reported hurt, but the report does not make clear if the victims had been occupants of the vehicle.
The types of injuries the people suffered, and their current condition is not known. The identities of the two people have not been reported, including their names, ages, gender, and cities of residence. Reports do not identify the driver of the vehicle.
