Collision with Car Injures Motorcyclist Near Camarillo
CAMARILLO, CA (August 9, 2019) – A collision late in the afternoon on Thursday near Camarillo between a car and a motorcycle seriously injured the rider. The August 8 incident occurred on 5th Street near Las Posas Road and to the east of it, and near Pleasant Valley Road.
The time was a little before 5:00 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Lexus RX350—had been traveling on 5th Street and heading west. The Lexus made a turn to the left to enter a driveway, and crossed the path of a motorcycle—described as a Harley Davidson—which had been traveling east.
According to reports, the rider could not avoid striking the Lexus. The two vehicles collided.
Responders arrived and transported the motorcyclist to Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. The rider suffered injuries that were described as major.
The types of injuries the rider suffered, and the person’s current condition, are not known. The victim was identified only as a woman 63 years old and a resident of Whittier. Her name has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the Lexus was identified only as a woman 48 years old and a resident of Oxnard. Her name has not been reported. According to reports, the driver was not hurt in the collision.
Investigators are continuing their efforts to gather information, details, and facts regarding the collision to understand the circumstances.
